The Story

"I didn't pivot."

"I blew it up."

Here's what actually happened — from a 13-year banking career to building three businesses of my own.

The Banks Built Me

For 13 years, I was built by the banks. TD Bank. RBC. Branch manager by 30. Good salary, great pension, a career path that was completely mapped out for me.

I knew I was capable of more. Not in an arrogant way — in an honest, quiet, persistent way that wouldn't leave me alone no matter how comfortable I got.

My boss told me I was raised by the banks. He meant it as a compliment. I heard it as a warning.

I Sold Everything

So I sold my house. Sold my car. Cashed my savings. And moved to San Francisco with an MBA acceptance letter as my ticket in — because I couldn't find another way through the door, so I found my own.

I didn't know exactly what I was looking for. I found it anyway: a new network, new possibility, and the first real version of a life I'd chosen entirely for myself.

2018 — 2024

I Built Other People's Organizations

San Francisco led to a first HR role. That led to New York. I kept getting more comfortable. And every time I did, I knew it was time to move.

In October 2024, I stopped building other people's organizations and started building my own.

James Beard Foundation

Built the entire HR function from scratch — during a public crisis.

Friends of the High Line

Took retention from 62% → 92% in 18 months.

SF Association of Realtors

First HR Director — set the foundation that scaled.

2024 — Now

Three Businesses. Zero Plans to Slow Down.

Today I run three things simultaneously: Eunioa — a fractional HR and career concierge firm. Nerve — an app I built myself, because I had an idea and decided that "I don't know how to build an app" wasn't a good enough reason not to. And a newsletter called The Sh*t They Forgot to Teach You — because there's so much nobody tells you.

There have been hard months. Moments of real doubt. But I have always found a way through — and I always will.

If I can do it, they can do it too.
